Memorial University, Faculty of Engineering Help Centre and Lecture Series

MUN Lecture Cahill spearheaded a new initiative with Memorial University's Faculty of Engineering.  The Cahill "Engineering One Help Centre" is a resource centre for year one engineering students and is staffed with a full time coordinator.  The Help Centre is meant to facilitate the transition from high school to university.  The Centre offers structured tutorials along with one on one help for assignments and exams.  Continuing with its support of the Faculty of Engineering, Cahill also launched a lecture series which will be held annually based on key projects of interest to students and faculty.  The first in this series was held in March 2010 where Cahill's involvement in Husky Energy's subsea fabrication was presented to a lecture hall of over 300 students and faculty.  Cahill actively recruits talented work term students through the Faculty's Cooperative Education program.
