CAD Technician Competition No. CI-NL-CT-12-11
The CAD Technician reports directly to the Engineering Manager and has the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Executes all electronic drafting work assignments for multiple project managers, engineers and technicians, as required.
- Contributes to ongoing development of engineering office drafting standards, and ensures all drawings are prepared to standard.
- Coordinates review, approval and distribution of completed drawings.
- Maintains project drawing filing system.
- Assists with proposal preparation and report writing activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: post secondary certificate in computer aided design or drafting. Three year diploma in electrical or electronics technology preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in preparation of electrical, instrumentation, and control system drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Effective interpersonal skills and a strong orientation toward client satisfaction.
- Proficiency in the use of the MS Office Suite of products.
- Experience in AutoCAD Electrical and/or skills in mechanical drafting are desired assets.
Electrical Service Technician Competition No. CI-NL-ET-12-11The Electrical Service Technician reports directly to the Field Service Lead and has the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants and laboratories.
- Assembles, tests and commissions motor-control devices, distribution equipment, transformers, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.
- Troubleshoots the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.
- Prepare contracts and initiate, review and coordinate modifications to contract specifications and plans throughout the construction process.
- Plan, schedule and monitor work of support personnel to assist supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Three year diploma in electrical technology and 3-5 years relevant hands-on experience in industrial or electrical utility environments or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proficient in the use and care of electrical test equipment including turns ratio testers, hipot testers, ductors, Doble testers, thermographic cameras, power analyzers, load banks, etc., and experienced in the analysis and interpretation of the test data collected.
- Effective interpersonal skills and a strong orientation toward client satisfaction.
- Proficiency in the use of the MS Office Suite of products.
